Clean Ductwork = Better Indoor Air Quality
Over the years, a significant amount of particulate—such as pollen, animal dander, dust, and so on—can accumulate in the ductwork of a home. Every time your heating and cooling system comes on, air begins moving through the ductwork, kicking up some of the debris which has settled inside. This particulate is then blown into each room throughout the residence, some of which you will unfortunately breathe, while much of the rest will settle on your furniture and carpet. This can be both a health concern and a nuisance. For example, allergies and asthma can be aggravated by these air-borne pollutants, and we all know having to dust around the house is time consuming and undesirable. Our duct cleaning service is one of the ways Overlake can provide you with better indoor air quality.
How our System Works
We utilize a truck mounted vacuum which draws air "in reverse" through the ductwork system. Once the vacuum is up and running, at each individual supply air duct and return air duct throughout the home, we insert a long tube, releasing the high pressure air contained inside. This high pressure air knocks any dust loose from the inner walls of the ductwork which is then drawn out by the vacuum. We have purposely chosen not to use any chemical sprays which are marketed to kill bacteria, mold, and so on, nor do we use a brush which is inserted down each duct. The reason being, chemical sprays tend to leave residue in your ductwork which evaporates over time and ends up in the air you breathe. We believe this is solving one problem and replacing it with another. The brush system can work well if all the ductwork throughout the home is rigid metal, but most residences utilize a fair amount of flexible ductwork which is more fragile than solid metal ductwork; it can be torn or knocked down more easily. We believe the high pressure air system is the most effective and safe system available today.
Our Technicians
Our technicians take the time to be thorough. Not only this, but they will be exceptionally careful with your home. They will remove their shoes or wear booties; they will avoid dragging dirt and debris into your home, and they will clean up after themselves when they are completed. Attention to detail is the norm, not only with the service itself, but also with how we leave your residence once we finish. We want our customers pleased with the attention to detail we exhibit throughout the entire process. The end result is happy customers who have cleaner indoor air to breathe.
